>> Mission
The Hellenic Institute of Marketing was established in 1975 and is the oldest institute of Hellenic Management Association (HMA.) Its purpose is:
- To serve as the primary collective expression and representation of people active in the field of Marketing, who believe that the creative role of marketing in the country’s economic and social life should be continually and substantially improved and who work systematically in this direction through a variety of services and activities
- To promote the concept of Marketing and the significance of its use in businesses and organizations operating in Greece
- To foster relations and creative communication between people involved professionally in the field of Marketing and their colleagues abroad
- To promote the exchange of knowledge, views and experiences about marketing both nationally and internationally
- To contribute toward the development of a high level of professional ethics among marketing executives
- To study the needs of education and training in the field of marketing and to help meet them effectively
- To assist in linking the academic world with Greek businesses on matters concerning the field of Marketing

Structure: The Hellenic Institute of Marketing incorporates approximately 1.500 individual members & holds 10 events per year. The Institute is governed by a nine members Governing Committee elected by its members. The Student Department is run by a separate Coordinating Committee elected every year by the students.
There are also Regional Departments in the following parts of Greece: Macedonia, Crete and the Peloponnese.
Staff: HMA currently employs 70 persons nation-wide; these employers all contribute to projects concerning the HIM on occasion. Also, there are 9 persons in the Governing Committee and 16 persons in the Students’ Coordinating Committees, all involved on a voluntary basis.

- Marketing Week
- Financial Marketing Conference
- Participation in the European Quality Week
- Philip Morris Marketing Prize (in cooperation with Philip Morris)
- EFFIES Awards Hellas (in cooperation with the Hellenic Association of Advertising Companies, the Advertisers’ Association of Greece, the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Association of Opinion Poll and Market Research Companies)
- The Student Coordinating Committee organises site visits to companies and participates in events that have a particular significance for student-members.

- Networking and Exchange of Knowledge and Experience: Members of HIM can profit from the exchange of diverse experiences acquired in the challenging corporate environment. To this purpose a variety of events is organised by HMA, namely Conferences, Fora, Evening Events and Round Table Discussions dealing with contemporary issues of Marketing Management. Last but not least, all members are entitled to participating in the election of the “Manager of the Year”. This is an institution aiming at acknowledging and rewarding top managers, who lead their enterprises in the most effective way in today’s highly competitive environment.
- Update and Information: all members of HIM receive regular updates and have the opportunity to share the Knowledge and Learning with their collaborators. HMA provides all members with professional and periodical publications distributed regularly and free of charge. Moreover, all members have access to the Association’s Library, as well as to research outcomes.
- Financial Benefits: all members of HIM are entitled to special financial benefits in the various activities of the HMA. Such benefits include special prizes for the participation in all conferences and seminars, as well as in the Post-Graduate and Certified Programs organised by HMA.
