About the promoters
Euromarketers.net is an initiative of the European Marketing Confederation (EMC), the umbrella organisation for marketing and sales associations in Europe, in partnership with Viadeo.com. Operating since the 1960s, the EMC Brussels headquarter was established in 1993. The mission of the EMC is the promotion and the development of marketing as the fundamental business process leading to economic growth and prosperity and the improvement of the competitive position of Europe's trade, industry and commerce.

The original idea was conceived in 2005 by Enric Massó, independent business consultant and advisor to the EMC Management Board. Enric led the project to its birth teaming up with Viadeo to develop the first specialized networking community for marketers of pan-European reach.
Viadeo is one of the world's largest business social networks with over seven million members worldwide (as of 2009) and 10,000 new members joining every day. Members use Viadeo to find clients, suppliers, business partners, jobs and employees from all over the world online. Originally founded in 2003 by 200 high-flying entrepreneurs in France, Viadeo started as a private network of business people who realised that they could share key business information and solutions to day-to-day business problems if they networked together on the Internet. The network was opened to the public in 2004 and grew to over one million members in less than two years and has now become a truly international network where users can create profiles and network in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian and Chinese.
