EMC-Accredited Frameworks for Marketing Excellence
The European Marketing Confederation (EMC) has formally accredited the marketing competence frameworks of CIM (United Kingdom), MII (Ireland), LIMA (Lithuania), and NIMA (Netherlands).
Each of these frameworks has been approved following a rigorous evaluation process and meets EMC’s high standards of quality. The assessment focused on:
· Comprehensive coverage of the minimum required topics.
· The presence of multiple, clearly defined levels within the framework.
· The clarity and precision in defining competencies and skills.
· The extent to which the framework is thoroughly explained and properly documented.
On the basis of this review, EMC strongly recommends that companies and educational institutions adopt one of these accredited frameworks when defining, structuring, or advancing the marketing profession.
What is a marketing competency framework?
A marketing competency framework provides a structured overview of the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required at different stages of a marketing career. It acts as a benchmark for consistent, high-quality practice across Europe. By adopting an accredited framework, organisations and professionals ensure clarity, consistency, and excellence in marketing practice.
Who is it for and why does it matter?
The framework is designed for educational institutions, professional bodies, employers, and individual marketers. It guides curriculum design, professional development, and career progression. By aligning with internationally recognised standards, it supports professional growth, nurtures talent, and strengthens trust and credibility across the marketing industry.
